This privacy policy covers the revealGPS mobile application, published on Google Play as revealGPS: AI Photo Location (package com.revealgps.app) and developed and operated by AYU MOON LLC ("we", "us"). revealGPS ("the app") helps you discover where a photo was taken using AI analysis. This policy explains what data the app handles, when, and why. The short version: we don't require an account, we never scan your photo library, and a photo only leaves your device when you explicitly submit it for analysis.
Photos
Your photo library stays on your device. When you choose a photo (or take one) and tap Reveal, that single image is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our backend and passed to an AI vision model to estimate where it was taken. Reveals and their results are saved to your in-app history so you can revisit them; you can delete individual reveals or all of your data at any time from Settings.
No accounts, anonymous identity
revealGPS does not ask for your name, email address, or any login. The app generates a random anonymous identifier on your device to associate your reveal history and any purchases with your installation. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.
What we collect and why
- Photos you submit — processed to produce a location estimate; stored with your reveal history until you delete them.
- Anonymous device identifier — ties your history, entitlements, and credits to your installation.
- Purchase records — subscription and credit purchases are processed by Google Play; we receive purchase tokens to activate your entitlements, never your payment details.
- Usage analytics — anonymous product events (e.g., "reveal started") to understand what to improve.
- Crash reports — technical diagnostics when the app malfunctions.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of processors to run the service: Supabase (backend and storage, hosted in the EU), AI model providers via OpenRouter (photo analysis), Google (Play billing, Maps and Street View imagery, and Analytics), and Sentry (crash reporting, EU ingestion). Each receives only the data needed for its function.
What we never do
- We never scan or upload your photo library in the background.
- We never sell your data.
- We never use your photos to advertise to you.
Data retention and deletion
Your reveals and history are kept until you delete them. You can erase everything — history, stored photos, and your anonymous identity — using Delete my data in Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Purchase records are retained as required for accounting and fraud prevention.
Children
revealGPS is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your data. Because our data about you is tied only to an anonymous identifier, the in-app deletion tool is the most direct way to exercise erasure. For anything else, contact us.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new date above.
